Fly Like an Eagle, Let My Vision Carry Me

“Time keeps on slippin’ slippin’ slippin’, into the future. I want to fly like an eagle, to the sea, fly like an eagle, let my spirit carry me.” – Steve Miller

In order to take effective action, you have to know where you want to go. The best way to know where you want to go is to see it.

Since we all aren’t Nostradamus, this is going to take a bit of imagination. Take some time to think about what you want your future to look like, where you want to be, what you want to know, and what you want to have accomplished. Collect these thoughts in a medium that is useful to you, one that you can look at, feel, or otherwise experience in a meaningful, immediate way. Check out how these green Seattle ladies crafted their vision and what it did for them.

Having something available to constantly remind you of why you do what you do will be a huge source of motivation. It is inevitable that you will get stuck on some task along the way that you don’t like or that absolutely depresses you to do. It is at these times you will need something to remind you of what the end will look like and keep you hungry to overcome the obstacles in your path.

Don’t look into the future, decide what the future will look like and boldly go there. Fly like an eagle.
