Give Your Peeps Some Klout! Adding +K to their Influence
Do you have a Klout.com account? Klout is a free service that “identifies influencers on topics across the social web.” If you don’t have an account yet, that is step 1. Step 2 is learning how to give +K to your peers.
What exactly does it mean to give “+K” Klout score to someone?
A +K point reminds me of a brownie point. Basically by giving a +K point to a peer on Twitter you are telling the network they have influenced you in certain area lately. Giving +K points to your Tweeps is a great way to say thank you or keep up the good work. However, remember that +K point does not affect your Klout score but does affect your influence level and is a great way to share good will on Twitter. Remember to mind your P & Q’s of Twitter etiquette.
How to give someone a “+K” on Klout.com?
- Login to your personal Klout profile. If you don’t have an account on Klout yet, you can easily create one from their homepage.
- In the search box on the top right-hand side of the Klout screen, type in the twitter username (“handle”) of the person you’d like to give a +K score to.
- This will bring up his or her profile on Klout. Look for the area that says “influential about” on the user’s Klout summary page. It will appear next to “influencer of” and below his/her profile.
- Click on “see all” in the “influential about” area. This will bring up the full list of topics Klout has identified as being areas this person is influential about.
- Look for the “Give +K” button below the topic, such as “marketing” or “blogging”, etc. Click on the “Give +K” button to give this person a “+K” for the chosen topic.
- In the pop-up window, click on “tweet” or “share” to let this person know you gave him/her a “+K”.
Influence is the ability to drive action. Take action today and share some +K points!
