Like it or not, there are a ton of different social media outlets at your customers disposal that encourage customers to post reviews. This can either help or hurt your retail business. Since they’ve become one of the main ways Yelp and Google Maps rank businesses, its vital you get great reviews. There are a few ways to produce great reviews for your retail business, which we’ll go over below.
Teach It
A lot of your customers would love to give you raving reviews, but they just don’t know how. Simply print up a sheet explaining how to sign up, search for, and review your retail business on Yelp, Google Places, etc.. Offer an incentive, something like 5% off next purchase, if they come in and have reviewed your service. A simple, easy way to get your ratings up.
Repost Reviews
Lets say you receive a raving review on Google Places. Copy it and post it on your website, Facebook Fan Page, LinkedIn group, or any other social media tool. The more you’re able to spread the word, the more likely you are to gain other customers. Also, if you can contact the customer, ask them to post another review on your Yelp account. Kill two birds with one stone!
Review others
If others see that you are reviewing on their accounts, they will be more likely to do the same when you use your services. You’ll build quality relationships with fellow businesses, and these connections can turn into increased sales.
It’s time to start writing and receiving reviews. The more positive reviews you have, the better credibility customers will give your retail business.
