Roots or Wings For Your Small Business

to the moonMy husband gives Sara consistency and stability, he gives her roots. I give her wings, show her the stars in the sky and dream with her about where she can go and what she can do. He thrives on daily routine, and I thrive on change. Together we compliment each other quite well.

In business, systems and processes lend to stability while the freedom of creativity in what is produced gives us variety. Every day we have a meeting from 8:32-8:37 am where we come together on a conference call and share accomplishments, critical numbers, and speed bumps. This allows us to quickly get on the same page, clear issues, then go in our separate directions and achieve results, each at our own pace.

With our family or our team at work, it’s nice to check in to see how everybody is doing and get on the same page about where we are going, then go there interdependently.

Interdependence is a dynamic of being mutually responsible to and sharing a common set of principles with others. It is concerned with the mutually understanding of states with reference to economic growth and social acceptance. This concept differs distinctly from “dependence” in that an interdependent relationship implies that all participants are emotionally, economically, and or morally “interdependent.” Some people advocate freedom or independence as a sort of ultimate good; others do the same with devotion to one’s family, community, or society. Interdependence recognizes the truth in each position and weaves them together. Two people in a good relationship are said to be interdependent. It can also be defined as the interconnectedness and the reliance on one another socially, economically, environmentally and politically.”
